Day 90
Today, after spending 77 days there, it’s with a heavy heart that I left Mexico. With the sun wall to wall every day, with A joyous people, generous, warm and always willing to help the gringos when needed. It was my first time driving to and in Mexico and I can honestly say that all the negatives comments heard over the years are absolutely unfounded. In fact I haven’t met one single person who wasn’t nice to me. « Una gran Gracias » to Santos for his availability, to Victor for his love of work well done, to Jony (El Loco) and his gang for their contagious laughter and their friendship, to Manuel for his love of leather, to Arturo and Ismael for their mechanical expertise and generosity of their time, to Enrique for his smile and his workmanship. You were all greatly responsable for an amazing journey.
Adios Mexico! Hasta luego a todos!
Tonight I’m in Texas on my way to Florida. =========================
Jour 90
Aujourd’hui, après y avoir passé 77 jours, c’est avec un peu de nostalgie quand même que je quitte le Mexique.
Pays au soleil omniprésent, peuplé de gens joyeux, généreux, chaleureux, toujours prêt à apporter leur aide aux gringos en difficulté.
C’était ma première incursion au Mexique en automobile et pour ma part je peux confirmer que toutes les rumeurs négatives entendues antérieurement ne sont pas fondées. Je ne me rappelle pas y avoir rencontré une seule personne qui n’était pas gentille avec moi.
« Una gran Gracias » à Santos pour sa disponibilité, à Victor pour son amour du travail bien fait, à Jony (El Loco) et sa gang pour leur joie de vivre et leur amitié, à Manuel pour son amour du cuir, à Arturo et Ismael pour leur expertise mécanique et la générosité de leur temps, à Enrique pour son sourire et son souci du travail bien fait. Vous avez tous contribué à rendre mon séjour au Mexique des plus agréable.

Ce soir je suis au Texas en route vers la Floride.
